Kyle L. Engel, J.D. Director PTTC

 

Kyle earned his B.A. Degree, with honors from Augustana College (SD) in 1983 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1986.

 

Kyle has experience with almost all aspects of the insurance claims industry over the past 20 years. In the independent industry he has served as an adjuster, handling thousands of claims personally over the years. Additionally, he has served as a Manager/File Examiner, being responsible for hundreds of adjusters on various storm sites.

 

In 2000, Kyle was appointed Director of PTTC. He is responsible for all day to day operations of PTTC, including licensing, curriculum development, classroom training and marketing.

 

Kyle also serves as General Counsel to the Pacesetter family of companies.

 

Gary Combs, Associate Director, PTTC

 

Gary began his Insurance Adjusters’ career with Allstate Insurance in 1974 and served as a Resident Adjuster, Field Supervisor, Unit Manager and Property Claim Manager over the next 11 years.

 

Starting in August of 1992 Gary worked Hurricane Andrew claims in Miami for 17 months as an independent adjuster. In January 1994, the Northridge Earthquake took Gary to California for 5 years.

 

In 1999 Gary was hired by Farmer’s Insurance where he spent the next 7 years building their Large Loss Property Unit. Gary created and taught much of the training for this premiere unit while also serving as an Executive General Adjuster, Zone Manager and Claims Examiner in 44 of the 48 United States.

 

 In 2006 Gary retired from Farmers and took a teaching position with Pacesetter Tech Training Center, LLC and moved his family from California to Claremore, OK. Gary’s 33+ years experience in all lines of Claims losses uniquely qualifies him to provide “real world” training to the students of PTTC.
