Classes are scheduled pending demand or prior to Hurricanes. California
Earthquake Authority (CEA) The purpose of this course is to educate the insurance adjuster on the types of damages expected from an earthquake – both residential and commercial property. This course will also help explain various building design codes as well as the basic understanding of earthquakes and why they occur. Furthermore, the course will provide information on the types of engineers that may be called upon to assist in evaluating any pre-existing damages verses earthquake related damages to a structure and the estimated cost of repairs. Any property claims adjuster should find value in this seminar as the basic principles for residential construction and commercial building design come into play when assessing structural and cosmetic damages. As part of the Adjuster Accreditation process, this course will also reference the California Earthquake Authority, earthquake policies, claims mediation process and various assistance programs available. This course is designed for a 4-hour time slot (2 hours on Policy and 2 hours for the Engineering) and upon completion attendees will be provided with a certificate good for 3 years (based on CA DOI guidelines).
